Description

Thomas Bavaria Hand Painted Yellow & Pink Rose & Gold Charger C. 1905-1908 Pretty large porcelain charger. Decorated with large pink, yellow, and red roses that are hand painted over transfer, which was a common practice at this time period. Has a brown, green, peach, and yellow background. With gold gilding along the edge. Signed Albert John. Marked on the reverse Thu. E. MR "Sevres" Bavaria. This mark was used by Thomas in Bavaria between 1905 and 1908. Also marked Hand Painted. After 1908, Thomas was run as the Porzellanfabrik Thomas has been run as an independent subsidiary of Rosenthal. Has some wear to the gilding and some scratches / usage wear to the front, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 12 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. HS CX
